It's A Work, Brother

22 February 2022 (aka 2s Day)

I just want to get this on the internet in case / for when I'm right about it.

I think Cody Rhodes leaving AEW is a "work" (not a shoot, brother).

He never left the company, or if he did leave, he's coming back at some point.

Why do I think this, and why am I sure enough of it that I'm putting it on the internet for everyone to read?

First, there's the bit he had on Sammy Guevara's vlog where he said he was going to take fans on a bizarre ride like nothing that's been done before.

You can look into that, or you can look into the fact that all of his merch is still listed and available for purchase on ShopAEW (as well as Brandi's, as of this post).

I will say, though, the one thing that threw this idea a little out of sorts is how I opened the AEW Elite GM game and saw he was no longer listed as a wrestler--however, Fuego Dos was still listed...

Anyway, professional wrestling is the most entertaining thing on TV right now, and I encourage you all to start watching.

Update: 5 May 2022

Well, Cody appeared at Wrestlemania, so I guess it's not a work.

...or is it, and this is a really, really extensive use of long-term storytelling?
